Need an Official Record?
Use these official channels for records held in Henry County and across Iowa:
- Court case files: use the Henry County court case lookup or call the Clerk of Court at 319-385-3150 or 319-385-2632
- Criminal histories and rap sheets: use the Iowa DCI Support Operations Bureau repository information and official request channel
- Arrest, booking, and jail records: call the Henry County Sheriff's Office and Jail at 319-385-2712
- Official Iowa record checks: submit the request to Iowa DCI online, by mail, fax, email, or in person; the DPS contact page lists the current criminal-history line
- Police and incident reports: ask the sheriff or city police department that wrote the report
- Expungement filings: use the Iowa Judicial Branch form and file through the Henry County Clerk of Court
The sheriff counter is at Henry County Sheriff's Office and Jail, 800 S. Grand Avenue, Mount Pleasant, IA 52641, 319-385-2712. Administrative hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sheriff record requests may also be emailed to civiloffice@henrycountyiowa.us.
The court counter is the Henry County Clerk of Court, 100 E. Washington Street, Mount Pleasant, IA 52641. The current Iowa Judicial Branch directory lists Suite 300, while the county directory retains Suite 203, so call before visiting. County business hours are generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
